Daily Bark

Gizmo has lived his whole life in the city, so moving to the village of Puddle with his journalist owner is a big change. Flowers, bees and mud are all unfamiliar to him, and he has no idea what to make of them. Luckily, Jilly, a wolfhound who lives next door, is happy to show him around.

Jilly has troubles of her own. Her puppies are about to be adopted by families far away, and she fears she will never see them again. Gizmo, always on the lookout for a good story, suggests that the dogs of Puddle start a newspaper to spread the word and keep the pups closer to home.

Full of humor and full-color illustrations, this is the first book in a chapter book series about the mischief dogs get up to when their people aren't watching. Readers who enjoyed The Secret Life of Pets may find it a good fit.
