About this book
Effie MacLeod has made some bad bargains, but trading her soul to Lucifer to save someone she loved may be the worst of them. Several centuries into her work as a demon, she is engaged to Belphegor, a handsome and successful Prince of Hell. It isn't a love match, but it suits her fine. The trouble is a leftover from her mortal life: she is still legally married to a sixteenth-century Scotsman named Finn.
Effie dropped her human past without a backward glance. Finn, on the other hand, has been reborn again and again. To get the Office of Infernal Internal Affairs off her back, she needs him to renounce their ancient vows. When she tracks him down in his current life, he has no memory of her at all, and he still refuses to give her a divorce.
That leaves Effie stuck in a small town in Georgia, trying to talk her husband out of the marriage while she keeps her mind on her plans for hell-bound mischief, and on ignoring the very physical pull between them. As the two spend more time together, hoping to bring Finn's memories back, feelings she buried long ago begin to stir. Hell doesn't play by the rule that all is fair in love and war, though, and Lucifer may have his own reasons for keeping Finn and Effie apart for good.
This is a paranormal romance with a second-chance love story at its center, mixing steamy chemistry with a wry sense of humor.
