Dark Alchemy

Dark Alchemy gathers brand new fantasy stories from several of the genre's leading modern writers. The stories are meant for readers of all ages and promise adventure with plenty of pace and suspense.

Garth Nix's Holly and Iron tells of two kingdoms joined together through magic. In Kage Baker's The Ruby Incomparable, a burning ambition to catch a dragon sends one person's life in a dramatically new direction. Eoin Colfer's A Fowl Tale is narrated by a starving dove, and Neil Gaiman's The Witch's Headstone explores what can be learned about kindness through magic.

The settings range from dark graveyards to great halls, and the casts include witches, wizards and lonely souls. Together the stories offer original, surprising takes on fantasy.
