Dark Tide

For thousands of years, a remote inlet on the Pacific Northwest coast has kept an old secret, and now that secret has stirred. Kai resents being pulled along to Blind Bay when his new stepfather, Rick, takes him on a research expedition. Their base is a floating laboratory far from everything else.

Rick is a marine biologist who uses sound waves to map deep underwater caves. His pulses reach something that was sleeping in those depths. An ancient predator from the caves begins hunting the pair. When the tide turns, the creature will be able to escape into the open ocean and beyond, and the threat will reach the wider world.

Kai and Rick, who have never managed to get along, must find a way to work together and stop the creature before the tide changes.
