Dear Librarian

When Lydia was five, her family had to leave their home, and for a time she moved from one relative's house to the next, from Grandma's to Aunt Linda's to Cousin Alice's, without any place that felt lasting. Then her mother brought her to an unfamiliar kind of building, one with stone columns and a set of very tall steps. It was the library.

Inside, Lydia settled into a favorite spot across from a sunny window, at a round desk. Behind that desk sat the librarian, who became her new friend. Together they explored a wider world beyond the walls she had known, one full of remarkable happiness. The book is a grateful tribute to everyone who has offered a child love and support through a hard time.
