Defy Me

Defy Me is the fifth book in Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me: Series One, a dystopian saga that has sold widely around the world. Juliette Ferrars is learning that the life she believed she had was built on falsehoods, and that the world around her was never what it appeared. She had assumed that defeating The Reestablishment meant she could finally command her power, her past and her pain. Instead, she is only starting to uncover the lies of a lifetime, and once again she must choose between becoming a weapon and becoming a warrior. This time she has allies beside her, and she is stronger and steadier than before. Still, before she can fight for her life and her love, she must battle an assault on her own mind and recover who she used to be.

The story is narrated in turns by Juliette, Warner and Kenji Kishimoto. Defy Me leads into Imagine Me, the sixth and final book of Series One. The wider series also includes several novellas: Destroy Me, Fracture Me, Shadow Me, Reveal Me and Believe Me, along with the bind-up Unite Me and Find Me. Shatter Me: Series Two begins with Watch Me, followed by Reveal Me and Escape Me, with more planned.
