Devil and Koki-Ten

Colivar is a kingdom under constant threat from the Infernal Domain, and the attacks come without any clear pattern. For centuries the Order of the Vigil has held back these incursions to protect the Realm, but political quarrels and bitter civil wars have left its ranks badly thinned. For reasons no one understands, the High Prince of Hell has sent aid in the form of a demon in exile.

A black sorcerer and a death-demon compete for control as both work to topple an emperor who holds a ruined realm in his grip. Meanwhile, a demon-slayer is trapped in a city being devoured by an Infernal plague and must search for a path through a situation where every option seems to end in disaster.

This genre-blending fantasy is the seventh book in the Demon in Exile Series, following a young man who must come of age while wrestling with his own inner demons. The series pairs clever, witty writing with painful action and warped drama, and its characters are both strong and flawed as they struggle to keep their fragile humanity intact. It is intended for adults, New Adult readers, and mature Young Adult readers.
