Devil's Flute Murders

The Devil's Flute Murders is a classic whodunit by Seishi Yokomizo, a leading figure of Japanese crime fiction. It is set in the ruins of post-war Tokyo, inside the grand Tsubaki house, where a once-noble family is in mourning. Viscount Tsubaki, an aging and troubled composer, has been found dead.

The family gathers for a divination meant to summon the spirit of their departed patriarch. Death visits the house again, and the brilliant Kosuke Kindaichi is called in to investigate. Kindaichi is the detective who stars in many of Yokomizo's novels.

Before he can find the truth, Kindaichi must uncover the Tsubaki family's most disturbing secrets, while the gruesome murders keep coming. The book is known for its dark, atmospheric mood and its intricately plotted mystery.
