Devil's gonna get him

Private investigator Tamara Hayle is a Black woman working the streets of her city, and this case tests her in ways her earlier work never did. Her latest client is a wealthy man who pays her well for her help. He is found dead only a few hours after he walks into her office, and Tamara must figure out why someone wanted him gone before the trail goes cold.

This is the second novel featuring Tamara Hayle, following When Death Comes Stealing. Readers who enjoy a sharp, grounded private eye who works through money, pride and dangerous people will find a familiar voice here, along with a plot built around a single hired-and-murdered client.
