Dinosaurs

Ever wondered why the year once had more days, or how long it can take to dig a dinosaur fossil out of the ground? This illustrated nonfiction title, printed in black and white, takes young readers back to the prehistoric era and the remarkable animals that lived then. Its pages cover the reptiles that ruled the air and the oceans, as well as the dinosaurs that dominated the land.

Readers meet the giant plant-eaters of ancient forests, such as Diplodocus and Barosaurus, and the fearsome predators like Tyrannosaurus and Allosaurus, whose powerful jaws could crush bone. Dramatic drawings focus on each creature's jaws, claws and teeth.

The book combines short, entertaining facts with recent scientific ideas, so readers can keep up with how scientists' understanding of dinosaurs continues to change.
