About this book
Discourse on Thinking is a short work by the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. It takes up the questions that arise once we manage to see a familiar situation in an unfamiliar light.
The book brings together two pieces: Memorial Address, and a dialogue titled Conversation on a Country Path about Thinking. Together they consider what it means to think, setting calculating thought against more reflective, meditative thought, and ask how people should relate to modern technology.
