Ditching Saskia
About This Book
Ditching Saskia is a supernatural slice-of-life graphic novel by John Moore and Neetols. It deals gently with everyday but difficult themes: identity, grief, and learning to accept the flaws of the people we love most. Damian lives with his grandfather and is struggling at a new high school. Hoping to talk things through, he tries to summon his mother's ghost. The spell goes wrong, and he ends up with Saskia, a scruffy, annoying kid instead. Damian is trying to settle into his new life and does not need Saskia hanging around and offering to 'help' with his crush. But Saskia is suffering too, and the things each of them is hiding deep down may be exactly what both need in order to find some peace. The story mixes humor with young love in the middle of grief, and suggests that someone's flaws may be the very reason you love them.
