Doomsday Show

Climate Emergency Week has brought thousands of environmental protesters into the streets of New York City, all demanding an end to the ongoing harm being done to the planet. Among the crowd are five fossil-fuel executives and reactionary politicians whom Max Mirsky, a former editor of the Journal of Climatology, has ranked as the worst climate offenders. Max, a climate activist with a good heart, is confronting the fifth name on that list when the man suddenly dies, and the fourth follows soon after. Suspicion falls on Max, and the FBI makes him its chief suspect. Then his daughter is taken.

Max has no intention of waiting for investigators to crack the case. He must rescue his daughter and uncover who the real killers are. He also has to stop the murders before public outrage and the backlash that follows wipe out any realistic hope of a climate solution. The book leaves readers asking what will become of his daughter, and of every generation still to come, if he fails.

Mark Alpert, the author of Final Theory, delivers this fast-moving environmental thriller.
