Double Dutch

Operative Aaron Haddock, known in the field as Stigma, is dispatched to collect enchanted manuscripts from the library of the late Graaf Hendrik van der Meer before they can fall into the Nation of Luxembourg's hands. The ordinary assignment takes a sharp turn when he runs into agents of the Ivory Tower, the Russian counterpart to the Salt Mine, who are chasing a job of their own.

Once it becomes clear that the Graaf had concealed far more in his castle than either service expected, Leader lets Stigma resurrect an old cover identity and chase leads across the continent. Back at headquarters, Chloe and Dot pursue unusual research from the sixth floor library.

As the danger escalates, Teresa Martinez, codename Lancer, joins the effort, posing as an Interpol officer to provide cover. The two set off on an arcane scavenger hunt through the European Lowlands while the Ivory Tower works to clean up the messy consequences of its own operation. In this occult contest only one side will come out ahead, and neither can be sure whether the prize will help or harm. Magic is real, so someone has to keep it in check.
