Drawing Problems and Solutions

Aimed at anyone learning to draw, this book works through common subjects by focusing on the mistakes people tend to make and how to correct them. Each problem appears on a left-hand page, where the author's notes point out what has gone wrong. The facing page shows a more convincing version of the same drawing, breaking it into its parts and offering guidance on each one.

The material is arranged into 12 themed chapters, each made up of three or four spreads. Once the problem-and-solution pairs are complete, the book shows how the techniques from across the chapters can be brought together in a finished drawing. Throughout, the explanations are clear and supported by plenty of annotations. Its compact format makes it easy to carry for sketching on the go.
