About this book
John Sanford's study of dreams looks at what they mean for both the mind and the spirit. Drawing on the psychology of C.G. Jung, he argues that dreams can guide people toward healing and wholeness and bring them back into contact with a living spiritual world. This revised edition appears twenty years after the first and opens with a new preface by the author.
Sanford, an Episcopal priest and Jungian analyst, supports his argument with case histories from his own work as a counselor. He follows the place of dreams in the Bible and examines what dreams are. He also asks why Christians, out of fear and the limits of dogma, have come to turn away from the visions through which God speaks to people. In his view, dreams are the forgotten language of God.
