Easy prey

EASY PREY is the second in the English crime series featuring the ex head of a Murder Squad, Nathan Hawk. Since his 'required retirement' (for having struck a fellow officer) people have begun to ask for his help in solving crimes which the police have given up on or simply can't be bothered with. An elderly barrister asks Hawk to find his missing daughter, Teresa Marie Stillman. Hawk gently declines to search for her, believing that all he would find is her body, but he changes his attitude when his own daughter goes missing for just a few hours. As he begins his search the mysterious Richard Crane falls in behind him - helps him on one occasion - and always keeps his distance. But who is he? What is he after? What is his connection to the lost girl? The search takes Hawk to the remote islands of The Outer Hebrides but even he, a police officer with 35 murder inquiries to his credit, is totally unprepared for what he will discover about Teresa Marie Stillman...
