Elementary Probability with Applications

Probability underpins decision-making in fields as varied as commerce, electoral politics and athletics. Larry Rabinowitz draws on years of classroom experience to present an introductory text meant both for lecture courses and for independent study. Its pages contain hundreds of worked examples grounded in real cases, including examples from sports, elections, drug testing, court proceedings, demographic growth and business. The author describes his method as inventive, hands-on and engaging.

The book is designed to support instructors in the classroom while also letting readers who want to revisit the fundamentals proceed at their own speed. It is adopted by a number of colleges and by some high school courses.
