Endings

Grief can push a person toward dark territory, and this novel follows a woman who has lost everyone she loves along with all of her possessions. Facing that emptiness, she asks how far she would go to accept money in exchange for taking a life, and what kind of person such a choice would make her.

She finds her footing as a contract killer and proves skilled at the work. Her reasoning is that if she turns a job down, another hired gun will simply take it. Then she learns of a serial murderer whose crimes are so monstrous that she resolves to hunt him down and end him. Her self-doubt grows, however, and her aim shifts from vengeance toward redemption.
