Excavations

At a remote archaeological dig in Greece, the legendary birthplace of the first Olympics, four women unearth an unusual artifact. It is an object that should not exist. For the head archaeologist, a relic of the profession himself, its appearance means something has gone badly wrong. The four women digging side by side could hardly be more different. Kara is a polished conservator who is calling off her wedding. Patty, bowl cut and all, is desperate for love. Z, a millennial, has just been dumped and fired once again. Elise, the team's star excavator, is a lone wolf on the verge of going rogue. To work out what they are really digging for, and to bring down the man who wants their history buried, these dirt-covered colleagues must do something they have avoided for years and become friends. If they can set their own messes aside for a single summer, they might make the discovery of a lifetime. The novel is slated to become a series on Peacock starring Amy Poehler.
