Extraordinary Rendition

This is a follow-up to The Blasphemy Law, the debut novel by Salman Shami. The story opens in Melbourne, where armed strangers break into Razane's home, cover her head, cuff her wrists and drive her away in a van. Sergei and Jane, unaware that her abduction is linked to a plot to murder thousands of civilians and undermine Western liberties, race to find her. Their search takes them back to Pakistan just as the countdown to what could become the deadliest terrorist attack in modern history runs out. There they meet opponents far stronger than they are: a zealous major in the ISI and a seasoned Taliban commander who will do whatever it takes to stop them. Finding Razane quickly becomes the smaller of their challenges. The novel examines the politics of terrorism in one of the most conflict-torn regions on earth.
