Fae Away

Princess Celyse was raised to obey two strict rules: stay away from portals, and never kiss a human. She has never broken either, until she finds a concealed doorway to the human world and a boy on the other side who can see her through it. Their nightly meetings slowly turn into something she knows she should not want.

When a suitor with dangerous intentions attacks her, the assault exposes a hidden secret within the palace walls. Celyse begins to suspect that her kingdom is not what it appears to be, and that the boy she has been meeting, Julio, may be the only person who can help her learn the truth. Crossing into the human world could cost her title or her life, yet she goes anyway.

Julio has spent his whole life seeing spirits, so he assumes the silver-haired girl who keeps appearing in his visions is one more of his unusual visions. Then she arrives in person, injured and begging for his help. Suddenly he is caught up in a magic he does not understand and a peril he cannot walk away from. His common sense tells him to keep his distance, but his heart will not let her go.

The story combines forbidden love, hidden magic, and a dangerous portal between two worlds. The author suggests it for readers who enjoy Holly Black and Sarah J. Maas, and for those who like romantic fantasy with court politics and high stakes. Fae Away is the first book in the Fae Bloodlines series, which is now complete.
