Alex Miller has witnessed things he cannot put out of his mind, and the man he testified against is just as unable to let it go. Under the Witness Relocation Program, Alex has been given new identities more than once, and he and his mother are constantly on the move to stay ahead of people who want them harmed.

His current cover story has him living in Virginia Beach as a skater. Terms like nose grab, ollie and kick flip are foreign to him, so he has to pick them up fast if he wants to fit in. The toughest skill he needs to learn, though, is how to stay alive.
