Fallen Creed

K9 handler Ryder Creed and his scent dog, Grace, return to Nebraska for what should be an ordinary search. They join FBI Agent Maggie O'Dell and Special Investigator Tommy Pakula on the same task force that helped rescue Ryder's sister, Brodie, a year earlier.

The work is interrupted when a rural postal carrier finds a black plastic bag dumped in a grassy roadside ditch. Inside are the partial remains of what appears to be a young woman, a shock even to these seasoned investigators. That same morning another young woman has gone missing, and the team wonders whether the two cases are linked. She may have run away, or she may have been taken, and the investigators fear it is only a matter of time before she ends up in a ditch too.

Ryder agrees to search for her, but an early snowstorm is moving in to replace the warm fall weather, and Grace has never worked in cold and snow. When the storm blurs the landscape and brings everything to a halt, Maggie keeps digging into the victim's story and uncovers a ruthless killer who has murdered before. Then she realizes no one has seen or heard from Ryder since before the snow began, and she fears he and Grace have walked into the killer's path.
