Fast Ice

In 1939, as the Second World War was beginning, a Luftwaffe expedition sailed for Antarctica with the aim of building a military base that would serve Germany's bid for global domination. The base was never completed, but the team came across something on the frozen continent that proved far more dangerous than any outpost, and its consequences have stayed buried for decades.

In the present day, a former NUMA colleague vanishes somewhere in Antarctica, and Kurt Austin and his partner Joe Zavala travel to the bottom of the world to find out why. Among the evidence they turn up is a photograph of that 1939 expedition, and it pulls them into a conspiracy with roots going back to the Nazi era. The icy waters and brutal cold are hazards enough, but the real threat is a man-made weapon: an ice that spreads at terrifying speed and could trigger a new Ice Age.

Standing in their way are a ruthless, single-minded villain and a monstrous storm. Austin and the NUMA team must piece together what the Nazis left behind before the planet is locked in a freeze with no thaw. Fast Ice is a NUMA Files adventure that pairs a wartime secret with a race against the climate itself.
