About this book
Lindsey Norris, director of the Briar Creek Library, and her husband, Sully, travel to a popular library conference in Chicago to hear a keynote talk by book restoration specialist Brooklyn Wainwright. Afterward, Lindsey finds a tote bag under her seat. Inside is a first edition of Patricia Highsmith's Strangers on a Train, inscribed to Alfred Hitchcock.
Brooklyn confirms that the copy is one of a kind and quite valuable. Not wanting any trouble, Lindsey and Sully hand it over to the conference director. Only hours after they board the train home to Connecticut, word spreads among the passengers that the Highsmith novel has disappeared. Soon the conference director is found murdered in his private compartment.
The killer has planted the book in the compartment next door, which belongs to Lindsey and Sully, and that makes them the prime suspects. To clear their names, they have to find the real murderer before the train reaches the end of the line.
Fatal First Edition is a Library Lover's Mystery by Jenn McKinlay, following The Plot and the Pendulum in the series.
