Fatal Night

Oxford, the last night of 1962. Snow is piling up outside as the city's social elite gather for New Year's Eve at its most exclusive party. By the next morning, one of the guests has been found in his car, which had slid into a snowdrift. At first it appears to be a tragic accident, since the young man seems to have frozen to death during the night.

Woman Police Constable Trudy Loveday and coroner Clement Ryder are called in to investigate, and their inquiry soon uncovers a network of hidden secrets that points to murder. Every person who was at the party tells a different version of that night, and several of them had good reason to want the victim dead.

Trudy and Clement must test each story and find the contradictions in every lie before the killer can escape justice.
