Fateful Words

Fateful Words is the eighth book in the Scottish Bookshop Mystery series by Paige Shelton. Delaney Nichols works at the Cracked Spine bookstore in Edinburgh. When her boss, Edwin, leaves town on secret business, she is asked to lead his annual literary tour around the city.

On the tour's first night, the manager of the inn where the group is staying falls from the roof and dies, and it may not have been an accident. Soon afterward, one of the tour members vanishes, leaving a series of puzzles behind.

With time running short, Delaney follows the clues through Edinburgh, visiting places such as Greyfriars Bobby, the Royal Mile and the Sir Walter Scott Monument. She has to piece the mystery together fast, because her own life is at stake, and so is the future of the bookstore.
