Father

Anthony Mailer, now a journalist, a husband and a father, was once a seven-year-old boy held captive in the basement of Dr Galbraith. Decades later, the frightened child he was still surfaces in him from time to time. To keep his marriage intact, he must stop avoiding what happened in those years and finally face it. Looking into his past, however, brings dangers he could never have anticipated.

The novel is fiction, but it was inspired by true events. John Nicholl draws on his own experience as a police officer and child protection social worker to shape the story. The book contains material that some readers may find upsetting.

The author dedicates the book to survivors everywhere.
