Final Orchard

Dr. Rosio Arata, known as Ro, is a scientific researcher in a society where bionic enhancements signal wealth and power. Her pioneering work on organic enhancements threatens to overturn that order. Then a horrific accident kills her daughter, and her search for answers leaves her trapped inside a twisted version of her own life's work.

Elsewhere, in a bleak underground colony, eighteen-year-old Ever is on track to rise through the ranks and be chosen as a Saviour. Her dream is to travel to the Surface and fight the army of Others that is overrunning the globe, and to catch up with the boy she loves along the way. But nothing in her world is what it appears to be, and the secrets buried in her bunker begin to unravel, putting everything's future at risk.

The Final Orchard is the debut novel of C. J. Rivera, and it centers on how far a parent will go to protect her child and the future.
