Finding Home

Gavin Taylor once seemed to have everything: a promising baseball career, a growing family, and the love of his life. Then one night, something unthinkable happened and his world came apart. Seven years later he is living in Timber Creek, Tennessee, in circumstances he never expected. Hardened and despondent, he drinks to bury his past and dull his pain, pulling away from everyone, his daughter included. He senses that he needs to change, but he cannot summon the resolve to chart a different course.

Hayley Jackson is the town's standout homegrown success. After six years building a career in fashion elsewhere, she returns to Timber Creek to open a boutique. Neither Gavin nor Hayley is looking for romance, yet after a string of disastrous run-ins, they keep finding themselves drawn to each other.

The story asks whether Gavin's painful history will keep holding him back in both his personal life and his work, and whether Hayley can set aside her trust issues and let herself get close to someone again.
