Finding Junie Kim

Finding Junie Kim is a middle grade historical novel by Ellen Oh. Junie Kim is a Korean American middle schooler who faces racism in her own life. As she deals with it, she learns about what her grandparents went through as children during the Korean War, a story of survival and loss.

The book looks at trauma, grief and loss with sensitivity, and it speaks out against racism. Ellen Oh is also known as a co-founder of the nonprofit We Need Diverse Books and as the author of the Spirit Hunters and Prophecy series.
