Firefax

In 1781 New England, the Firefax name is one people approach with caution. The family is rumored to have killed kings, and for centuries it has built a trade out of murdering powerful figures for generous fees. When the family's head dies, the return of Murdoch, the clan's clever and merciless prodigal, leaves its members in disarray.

A legend describes a city of gold on an island that appears on no chart, a fortune large enough to decide the outcome of the American Revolution. Only Murdoch knows where the island lies, and he will not give up that secret easily. Others are closing in. Istäni, once Murdoch's protégé and now his enemy, leads a British intelligence network, while Murdoch's former colleagues in a Continental intelligence network are also hunting the gold.

Both spy networks are willing to go to any lengths to find the treasure, but they may be underestimating a bickering clan of assassins.
