First Semester

James "JD" Dawson comes from a tough neighborhood and has moved about three thousand miles away to start over at the University of Atlanta. His first term goes badly, though. He falls in with a new crowd, shows up late to class, skips his coursework, and pays more attention to other women on campus than to his studies.

The school assigns him a tutor, Katrina Turner, who makes studying engaging. JD soon realizes that if he wants a woman like Katrina, he will have to grow up.
