Forged

For twenty years, private investigator Jax Rodriguez has searched for his missing brother, Diego. A fresh trail pushes him to make a choice: he will pursue this final lead to its end, and afterward he will marry the woman he loves and give up the hunt for good.

Mikayla Grant, an artist, has already lost people she cared about and dreads losing another. Still, she must let Jax go. The circumstances of Diego's disappearance have been kept hidden, so Jax is walking into real peril. When he suddenly goes silent, Mikayla has to decide whether to lean on a divine assurance that Jax will not be abandoned or to take action herself.

Jax's journey takes him through the dangerous streets of Caracas, Venezuela, and then into the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico, where unseen hazards await him. He is not the only one searching for Diego. A vengeful narcotics kingpin is spending heavily to learn what became of him. If Jax cannot stay ahead of this pursuer, he may vanish just as his brother did.
