Fractured Diamond

Diamond Hatcher has always been the quiet, shy one. Human traffickers abducted her, sold her, and tortured her, and the experience left her more withdrawn. She now puts into her paintings the feelings she cannot speak aloud, and she is working to piece her life back together.

She once gathered her courage to tell Detective Elijah Newton that she was drawn to him, and he did not share those feelings. Elijah has his own troubles, and though he cares for Diamond, he refuses to pull her into them.

That resolve breaks when someone begins using Diamond's artwork as a blueprint for murder. Elijah will do whatever it takes to protect her, even if it means revealing the secret he has been keeping.
