Fright Night

Charley Brewster is a fairly ordinary teenager who spends his time on horror films and chasing girls. His world is upended when the stranger who moves in next door turns out to be a vampire.

This novelization follows the 1985 film, drawing its story from Tom Holland's screenplay. Skipp and Spector stay close to the script and add only modest extras. Because they wrote before seeing Chris Sarandon's layered performance on screen, their vampire reads as a much more monstrous, inhuman figure.
