Garnet Flats

For just over a year, Talia Eden was in love with Foster Madden, one year, two months and eleven days in all. On the 438th day, that love came to an end, the day he married her best friend. Talia made herself a vow to stop thinking about him altogether.

Years later, Foster turns up in Quincy, the small town Talia still calls home, and asks for her help. His divorce is barely final, and he arrives with apologies and promises that Talia suspects are part of a scheme, since Foster has a long history of games and hidden motives. What he wants is her help preparing for a world championship fight.

Talia has forgotten what made Foster famous in the first place. He has devoted his whole life to winning, and he is focused and resolute. He is not about to give up until he wins her back.
