Geologist

What does a geologist actually do all day? This beginner-level title introduces young readers to scientists who study the materials and processes that make up Earth. Geologists search for better ways to put minerals to use and keep track of climate change, and the book shows them at work both in laboratories and out in the field.

Readers learn which tools geologists rely on and what steps lead to a career in the field. Photographs taken during real workdays illustrate each part of the job. The book also profiles one notable geologist, explains how geologists apply STEM skills, and lays out a path for anyone who wants to become one.
