Gift from Daniel

Daniel Tiger, the young star of the preschool series Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, which grew out of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, is the focus of this early reader with a holiday theme. Written for the Pre-Level 1 stage of Simon Spotlight's Ready-to-Read line, it is brief and simple enough for children just starting to read on their own.

Daniel has presents in mind for the people he loves, including his family and friends, but his savings won't cover store-bought ones. His mom helps him see that handmade gifts can carry more meaning than anything bought in a shop. As he sets out to create something for others, Daniel finds his own creativity and comes to appreciate the happiness that comes from giving.
