Go and Do

Shane Claiborne first met John Perkins, a veteran civil rights leader who is also a minister. The meeting grew into a close friendship, and Perkins became Claiborne's mentor.

Over several years the two men talked again and again. Claiborne wanted a concrete picture of what it means to follow Christ in everyday life, and their frank exchanges, along with Claiborne's later reflections on them, form the core of the book.

Perkins's guidance is organized into nine principles for peacemaking and transformation.
