Grasshoppers

Grasshoppers are small green insects that can leap high into the air. Their sturdy legs power each jump, and their wings carry them soaring. This book explores what grasshoppers do once they are back on the ground: how their coloring helps keep them out of danger, how they search for and eat their food, and why some kinds are helpful to farmers while others are harmful. Photographs paired with simple text make it a good choice for young readers who love bugs.
