Hexes & Hot Flashes

Six months after losing her husband, a woman learns that he had been keeping another family, and that she is still his widow only on paper. Her forty-fifth birthday was meant to be a pampering afternoon with her closest friend. Instead, an insurance broker arrives to explain that her late husband's policies are being paid out to his other wife and family.

In shock, she turns the day into a night of wine, music, and dancing. Before long, a self-styled Indiana Jones arrives with whirlwind energy and begins courting her. Just as things heat up, he disappears, her place is torn apart, and she is left with a glowing snake tattoo that speaks to her about magic, curses, and a hex that will kill her. She heads home at dawn with none of the fun to show for it.

At her door waits Logan Gentry, a tall, dark man who believes she is an ancient magical being sent to fix his problems. Ordinarily she would reach for her Taser, but his story, and his knowledge of the talking tattoo, draw her in. He seems to know more about what has happened to her than she does. If she helps him, she may find some answers, provided the curse on her tattoo does not finish her off first.

Age is just a number, especially when you are possessed by an ancient Oracle.
