High-performance construction materials

The series will describe advanced materials that serve various functions in particular industries such as automobile, manufacturing, and medicine. The arrangement by application is intended to complement conventional studies of advanced materials, which tend to be arranged by arcana of the underlying science. This first volume considers construction, and the contributors are in structural and civil engineering as well as materials science and engineering. Their topics include steel material and structures for earthquake resistant buildings, enhancing the performance of masonry structures, coatings and sealers, and smart materials and structures.
