About this book
Ignatius Perrish, called Ig, wakes up hungover after a night of drinking to find two horns growing from his head. Strangers he meets begin confessing their darkest secrets to him, and he soon becomes the main suspect in the death of his girlfriend, Merrin Williams, in the small New Hampshire town of Gideon.
The story alternates between the present and flashbacks to Ig and Merrin's relationship as he tries to understand what he has become and what happened to her. The novel mixes psychological tension with supernatural horror and explores guilt, temptation and how close ordinary people can come to their worst impulses.
Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King, debuted with Heart-Shaped Box, a critically acclaimed supernatural horror novel that won a Bram Stoker Award and became a New York Times bestseller. He is a Ray Bradbury Fellowship recipient, and his story collection 20th Century Ghosts also won a Bram Stoker Award. Horns was later adapted into a feature film starring Daniel Radcliffe.
