Hummer

Hummer is a story about bees. Its hero is an ageing bee who has had to give up his post as commander of the Hive Defence Garrison because of an injury, though his heart and courage remain as strong as ever.

The peace and security of the bees of Lambas is now under threat from Redmore, a terrifying and ambitious drone who has become their tyrannical new Honey Controller. He keeps making impossible demands for more and more food.

Leading the defence will take all of Hummer's courage and wisdom. He is helped by his brave young allies Brendan, Laser and Casper, and by an unlikely alliance with an aggressive tribe of giant ants.

The book is a tale of conflict and loyalty, war and peace, set in the world of bees.
