Husbands

Kyle Macdonald is a wannabe actor whose luck has run out. At twenty-eight he is single again, working as a supply teacher in an inner-city Birmingham school and sleeping in his childhood bedroom beneath a Madonna 'Hard Candy' poster. Then a phone call tells him that six years ago, drunk in Vegas, he married Aaron Biedermeier, a top Hollywood director.

Instead of panicking, Kyle sees a ticket to fame and the life he has always dreamed of. In Los Angeles, though, the sunshine, celebrity actors and exclusive hotel suites begin to crack, exposing a darker and more corrupt side of the city.

As Kyle digs into his supposed husband's past, he finds disturbing allegations of abuse and underage sex parties. With help from Biedermeier's fiancé, the actor Noah Winters, he sets off on a cross-country race to solve the mystery and expose the truth, and finds love along the way. The tone mixes dark secrets with comedy and romance.
