I Am Here

I Am Here is a rhyming picture book about a parent's steady, loving presence. The author, Karen Kilpatrick, wrote it after her young daughter went through a long illness.

The verses speak to a child through hard moments: being angry, being worn out, finding things difficult, or wanting to cry. In each case the refrain is the same, that someone is there. The words also encourage children to look for the good, and for laughter and fun, even when times are tough.

The book's message is that unconditional love and support last through challenges big and small, good days and bad. It reassures children that they are loved and never alone, whatever the circumstances.
