In Too Deep

Jack Reacher comes to in a pitch-black room with his wrist cuffed to a crude bed frame. His right arm is badly hurt, everything he was carrying has been taken, and he cannot remember how he ended up there. He has no idea where he is, and no idea who put him there.

The last thing he remembers is a car he had hitched a ride in being forced off the road. The driver did not survive the crash. The people holding Reacher have decided he must have been working with the dead man, so they treat his injuries and keep him alive, waiting until he is fit enough to be questioned.

They have badly misjudged the man chained to that bed. In Too Deep is a Jack Reacher thriller written by Lee Child with Andrew Child, and it starts with Reacher at his weakest and his captors sure they are in control.
