About this book
Incipiencies is a collection of poems in verse and free verse, arranged in six thematic sequences. The poems explore lasting themes such as ambiguities, memories and personalities, and they comment on ideas, ideals and ills. They look at a range of contrasting worlds, with odes to features of landscape, culture, imagery and reality.
The poet, Robert Stansfield-Cudworth, has been writing poems since childhood, inspired by both the epic and the ordinary. This book gathers what he calls his 'first fruits', written between 1994 and 2009. Its reflections, meditations and inspirations centre on art, beauty and creativity.
